Catholic Social Teaching
At Sacred Heart we incorporate Catholic Social Teaching in all aspects of school life: through the whole curriculum, through the Catholic Life and Mission of the school and through prayer and worship and the liturgical calendar. This makes these teachings meaningful and memorable for our pupils and ensures that they understand how we can live out our Catholic beliefs in the world.
We focus on a specific Catholic Social Teaching principle each half term:
Autumn 1 - Care for Creation
Autumn 2 - Preferential Option for the Poor
Spring 1 - Solidarity and Peace
Spring 2 - Community and Participation
Summer 1 - Dignity of the worker
Summer 2 - Dignity
We use the Cafod animal characters to support our pupils to remember and understand how these principles guide us to live according to our faith.
